SUIT FOR DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF CONTRACT TO MARRY

 The above named plaintiff most respectfully submits as under:-

 

1. That the defendant agreed on …………….. plaintiff at the appointed time as suggested by the ................... of the plaintiff a year from the date of the agreement entered into in the presence of the tribes.me of the plaintiff as well as of the defendant.

2. That in token of the agreement to marry, the Tilak ceremony was made by the kinsmen of the plaintiff at the house of the defendant on .................... 19...... in the evening in the presence of all concerned, and a dowry detailed at the foot of the plaint was presented to the defendant and his relations.

3. That the defendant without intimating the plaintiff or her kinsmen, has married ......... ............ on ..... .......... 19 .................... and thus has broken the contract made with the plaintiff as aforesaid.

4. That by the said wrongful act of the defendant, the plaintiff has suffered a huge damage in her reputation which amounts to Rs. ............. and the cost of the articles given and presented to the defendant and his kinsmen at the time of the Tilak ceremony and other expenses therefor made by the plaintiff's father in this respect.

 5. That the cause of action arose on ................... 19.................. when the defendant broke the contract to marry aforesaid by marrying with GH and me has jurisdiction to decide the suit.

6. The suit is valued at Rs..................... the amount of damages for reputation of the plaintiff and her family, plus the expenses made by father at the time of the Tilak ceremony of the defendant. Court fee is par to the reliefs claimed on the aforesaid valuation.
